The Sparkle Factory

Tarina Tarantino is known for her uniquely nostalgic yet modern designs.
The jewelry designer established herself in 1995 with her husband and business partner Alfonso Campos.
Since then the company has grown into an international brand
with stores across the world.
The mid-nineties were the height of minimalism in the fashion world and Jewelry and accessories were very simple or non-existant on the pages of fashion magazines.
The TARINA TARANTINO collections were a breath of fresh air for fashionistas
who were tired of blending into the simplistic era of fashion.

Tarina has had a life long obsession with colorful sparkling Swarovski crystals, and jewelry.
She combined both her obsessions to create sparkly jewelry that also featured her signature op-art color combinations which became a trademark of her designs.
During the course of her career Tarantino has been credited
with creating trends like “hair jewelry” which brought
embellished hair accessories back into the spotlight for the first time since the days of Marie Antoinette
Tarantino also created a revival of Lucite in fashion accessories and then invented
a way to accessorize a purse with her “Bag Candy” collections in 2000.
Soon after she was invited by
Sanrio to makeover their 30 year old pop culture icon Hello Kitty
which resulted in the Hello Kitty Pink Head collections.

Take the Plunge

Fashion Trend for Fall 2011:
                                                  The Plunging Neckline
This fall designers have taken the plunge,
lowering the neckline on their designs.
The neckline plunge for fall 2011 is not a scoop neck.
Its a deep cut V that ends somewhere between the breastbone and the naval.
It's glamorous yet effortless and it works best
with a lightly relaxed fit rather than a gravity defying, tightly fitted one.
There are inherent risks involved with a plunging neckline, and these risks are quite obvious.
Suffice to say some are dangers of an aesthetic nature, where as others can concern a girl's modesty.
The plunging line isn't for everyone but for the daring fashionistas
their are many different ways to wear this new fall trend.

The best way to wear a plunge top is to wear nothing underneath
Going braless allows for smooth, unbroken lines, it also means
no fussing with stick-on bras or clear adjoining straps.
But..
For those of you who simple must wear something underneath the deep V trend
The best  layering piece is a bra
Choose the kind of underwear that is made to be seen
make it obvious that your layering piece is lingerie.
Let it casually peep out from below your plunging top or dress.
I'm sure you're all curious as to how you should be expected to wear
a plunging neckline when the wind is blowing and the leaves are falling?

Designers have created a look using heavier fabrics like velvet, knits, and luxe jersey.
Winter is also the perfect time to capitalise on the sensuality of turning something
masculine into something feminine by making a low-buttoning suit jacket
an evening substitute for a dress.
Finally a variation on the bare plunging neck is one that's finished with sheer fabric like mesh or lace giving some coverage to skin that would otherwise be bare.

BUT...
The downtown party kid-approved themes such as
spongebob, animal prints, national flags, even an "adults only" section
make them way more fun than functional... and that's what it's all about, right?
With an infinite range of graphic possibilities

favorite among celebrities, and late night party animals.

Louboutin's Spring/Summer Tour

Christian Louboutin is playing the role of fairy shoe-mother for his 2011 Spring/ Summer Line.
Christian Louboutin has partnered with photographer Khoung Nguyen
to create a perfect combination of
dream and fantasy propelling vivid and artsy imagery for the s/s 2011 line.
The S/S 2011 Ad Campaign is really creatively designed.
Each photo showcases how dreamy Louboutin shoes are &&&
the photos look like they want to tell us different stories.
Louboutin decided not to use models and instead chose to depict his collection in an artistic way.
He doesn't need beautiful models to sell his shoes
since his shoes are simply beautiful by themselves.
The shoes are depicted in their natural habitat.
Christian Louboutin has  created a sexy fusion between art & fashion
This Ad Campaign is not the usual shoe campaign but then again
Christian Louboutin's aren't the usual pair of shoes.

Brown Bagging It

The “Picnic Bag” by Marie Turnor

Marie Trunor's "Picnic Bag" is based on the ubiquitous brown paper lunch bag.
Unlike a regular paper lunch bag..
The Picnic bag can carry all your feminine essentials in your hand,
or under your arm and you wont have to worry about it ripping.
The Picnic bag is made of soft & supple Italian Calf
&&& it rolls at the top and features a hidden magnetic closure.
The bags purpose is to  not only look like you've been carrying your lunch all day
but also to update the old brown paper lunch bag in to a modern fashion accessory.
&&&
for those of you who need a slightly bigger lunch sack Marie Turnor has also designed a
                                                                                                     dinner clutch.
A larger version of the Picnic clutch with an inside pocket.
Made of the same soft, crinkly leather.

An Apple A Day

Hermès  Style

Hermès has created an apple holder
meant for carrying your fruit in literally the most high fashion way possible.
Composed of Granny Smith green lambskin leather
with no visible stitching.

The French design house made sure this accessory
has the same high quality craftsmanship
of its other major statement pieces like the Birkin and the Kelly.
&&&
since fruit dominated the runways from Stella McCartney to Prada this season...
 it is totally on trend.

Plus...

The handle contains a knife holder and an actual horn knife
so nobody can accuse it of having fashion without function.
(File this one under: things you never knew you needed.)
